Childrens Museum

Last week, my sister and I took our children to a Children's Museum that's about 30 minutes away. It was a small town children's museum and nothing like the one I went to in Michigan! I shouldn't compare the two, though....not fair to our little small Wyoming towns! We're lucky we even have one!

Here are some pictures of the day in no particular order!

Best friends!

Kara will hate me for posting this picture :) Look at that cute pregnant belly!

We had a fun day! It was nice to get out and do something different, too!

Out of the Mouth of Celeste

Some things Celeste has said recently:
(This is more for me so I don't forget these!)

She loves to wear those plastic toy princess high heeled shoes. She was walking around with them on and kept coming into my office. Everytime she would walk in, she'd say, "Clap Mommy." I was busy, would clap, and go on with my work. (Not a very good Mommy moment...) I finally stopped and said, "Why am I clapping?" Celeste replied, "Because the Princess is here!" Yes Celeste, you are my princess!

This morning we were driving to Wal-Mart and a UPS truck was in front of us. Celeste says, "Look Mommy, the box man is behind us!"

Celeste loves to park in the shade so the car isn't so hot. She espcially likes the shaddy spot at church. This morning as we're pulling up to Wal-Mart she says, "Can we park in the shade?" I tried explaining that there is no shade in the Wal-Mart parking lot. That created a lot of Why's!

Celeste keeps me smiling. I love her!

Amazing!

My dad is the most amazing 64 year old you've ever met. He participated in his second triathlon this past weekend and will compete in #3 in a couple weeks. Three triathlons in 2 months! I'm so proud of him for doing all the training and working so hard. I wish I could say I've done one, but a 5k is all I've been able to work up to do. Maybe next year I can do the triathlon with him...

It was quite the sight to see how this was put on. It was very well organized and done well. Here is the line waiting to start the first event, swimming.

They started participants about every 2 minutes. They swam down and back up one lane, went under the lane rope, and kept going until they had swam all the lanes. They finished when they got to the other end of the pool. (Does that make sense?) It was 600+ yards.

Next was biking. Dad had a little delay when he went to start and his chain was off. With a little help, he was off in no time.

Coming in from the 16 mile bike ride.Running was last.

Here he is starting the 3.1 mile run.

Almost finished...

And crossing the finish line. That timer was started when the first swimmer started. My dad started towards the end.

Ahhh...refreshing water!

This is my favorite picture. Celeste just went and sat down right by her Grandpa as he was resting. If you look closely, she's even sitting the same way as he is with her hands around her knees. So cute!

My dad finished the race in 1 hour 38 minutes. Amazing! Way to go Dad! We're so proud of you!

I finally took Caleb's one year old pictures last week. He is such an easy going, fun, loving little man. He is so happy and brings so much joy into our home! Enjoy the pictures.

If you need a photographer for family pictures, children's pictures, etc., let me know! As of now, I don't charge anything (but remember I'm not a professional)! Thanks for looking!

4th of July

Our 4th of July weekend was busy but fun. Ryan's sisters and children were in town so we spent a lot of the weekend in Lander with family. Monday morning, I got up and ran a 5k with my dad. He took 1st in his age division and I took 5th in my age division. The rest of the day was filled with resting, fireworks, and food!

Ryan did Celeste's hair since I left the house before they were awake!

Caleb picked the weeds out of Grandma's grass

Every child loves the Snaps! Here they are attacking Aunt Amy with them

It was quite frightening to me how much Celeste enjoyed lighting off bottle rockets. :S

And of course, Sparklers!

Being in Lander, WY on the 4th of July is an experience. That town goes wild. Everyone lights off big fireworks. Ryan's mom lives at the top of the hill so we sat in our lawn chairs and watched the sky light up. It was amazing!

Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe 4th of July!

Gingerbread Girl

Remember this picture?

For Valentines Day, my mother gave us the books Gingerbread Girl, Gingerbread Boy, and Gingerbread Cowboy. Celeste loves the books, therefore, we read them often! Along with the books, mom gave us a kit/pan to make our own gingerbread girl. 4 1/2 months later, we finally got around to making our gingerbread girl!

I asked Celeste if she wanted to come open the oven and look at our gingerbread girl. She got a very worried look on her face and said, "No! She'll run away! We have to leave the door shut!." So here she is looking at her gingerbread girl in the oven!

(please excuse the outfit. She dressed herself!)

I'm not a huge fan of gingerbread, so we made our girl out of sugar cookie dough!
Celeste had lots of fun decorating her.

Finger licking good!

I think the "hair" was her favorite to eat!

Our finished gingerbread girl.

Thanks mom for the gift! We had lots of fun creating our Gingerbread Girl!

Birthday Boy

On Sunday, June 19th, Caleb turned one year old! Happy 1st Birthday Bub! (Celeste calls him "Cabub" so his nickname has turned into Bub.) He is the happiest, most content little guy you've ever met. We enjoy having him in our family and love him to pieces.

Because it was also Father's Day, we had a Father's Day/Birthday dinner with all our family that live close. We ate ham, yummy potatoes, Strawberry Pretzel Salad, rolls, and broccoli. Yummy! Then we opened gifts.

Caleb had helpers opening his presents
Cake time! This is as creative and fancy I get decorating cakes! It's not my specialty, but I thought it turned out pretty cute.

Caleb was getting anxious and wanted his cake now! No need to sing, just let him eat!

As you can see, Caleb loved his cake.

He loves chocolate!

We love you Caleb and are so blessed to have you in our family!
