Messing Around

I got to watch my friends little 9 month old girl tonight. She is so stinkin' cute! The weather and lighting outside was PERFECT for pictures, so I decided to pull out the camera and mess around a little. Here are a couple pictures I took of little Katie tonight. (I tried to take some of Celeste, too, but she wouldn't sit still long enough.)

She was eating a leaf. I did remove it from her mouth as soon as I got a picture of it!

Here they are playing. Actually, Celeste had a pea from our garden that Katie wanted.

Thanks for letting me share! And thanks, Jen, for letting me snap a few photos of your little cutie!

Big Helper

Tonight after Celeste's bath, she decided to go help her daddy scrub the floor. She has started washing anything and everything. If you give her a rag, wet wipe, or towel, she starts scrubbing down anything from her face to the floor!

I love kids!

Modeling

Back in my younger years, I was involved in 4-H. We didn't do the animals, but did sewing and then we modeled the clothes we had made. They always have a public "fashion review" where all the contestants modeled their clothes for the public. It's not near as big now as it used to be when my sisters and I were involved. This year, the theme was something to the point of "clothing throughout the years" and they asked my sisters and I to model some clothing as "vintage models." My mom told them she didn't think we'd do it unless we could bring our daughters on stage with us. So that's what we did! I, however, don't fit into anything I made so my mom and I made Celeste this cute dress the night before! (They only gave us a day's notice)
I apologize that the pictures aren't the best quality due to the lighting in the theater.
Here we are walking around on stage.

Celeste got a lot of "ahhhs" when she waved to everyone. Towards the end, Celeste just sat down on stage. I had to pick her up and carry her off! We got some laughs at that!

My sister, Kara, with her daughter, Elsie. Kara made her outfit when she was in 4-H and made Elsie her outfit the day before.
And this is my little sister, April, modeling the formal she made her senior year of high school.

So you can see the dress a little better, here is Celeste after the show once we got home. She is always on the move so I had to be fast taking the pictures while she was running around!
She's so precious! We love her to pieces!
I think the dress turned out so cute! Thanks mom for your help! The pink band goes around and ties into a big bow in the back. And I don't know if you can see or not, but I made matching bows for her pig tails. I love it!

Rendezvous Weekend

Here in Riverton, Wyoming it's RENDEZVOUS WEEKEND! It's a great time! Pictures don't do it justice; it's something everyone should experience! Last night (Friday) they had the car and bike show. They close off Main Street and everyone parks their old, fancy cars along the street to see. On the side roads, you can watch the "burnouts," where they burn out their tires. Then you have guys pushing kegs down the road with their motorcycles, seeing how far they can get. But don't forget the weenie bite! The man drives the motorcycle real slow under a hot dog and the girl is on the back and takes a bite out of the weenie! I know, only in Wyoming... I didn't get any pictures last night. We couldn't stay too late because Celeste was ready for bed so most of the "festivities" hadn't started. (They have to wait until people get a few drinks in, if you know what I mean!) The part I love the best is people watching! You see some very interesting folks at the Riverton Rendezvous!

The next part of Rendezvous Weekend is the hot air balloons. It's tradition in my family to get up really early to watch the hot air balloons take off Saturday morning. Even though my family didn't go this year, Ryan and I still took Celeste. She enjoyed it. Here are a few pictures of the Hot Air Balloons. There were probably about 25 of them.

If anyone wants to experience the fun, let us know! We'd love to have you! We've got extra beds and are always anxious for visitors! We'll see you next year!

I DID IT!

Let me take you back to this post. It's the post of my two younger siblings running in a 5K and 1/2 marathon. In that post, I mentioned they inspire me to start running and I'd keep you posted on it. Well, I'm here to tell you I ran my first 5K yesterday! I DID IT! I began running a couple months ago knowing this 5K was in July and was determined to run in it. However, after a month or less of running, I had to quit because of a health issue. To be honest, part of me was disappointed knowing I wouldn't be in the 5K, but the other half of me was excited I wouldn't be running anymore. But just 2 weeks ago, I was able to start running again. I knew 2 weeks wasn't very much time to get in shape for the race, but I did it anyway! I owe a huge thanks to my sister who pushed me. I really just wanted to finish the race and that I did! It was a family outing. This is a picture my family that ran the race:
Drew (bro-in-law), Quinton (brother), April (sister), me, Dad

Drew and Quinton in the front to start the race. I think it was the forest service fire guys that put the race on. All the guys in the blue are on forest fire crews and were in great shape. They were fast!

Here's Proof: I'm coming in to the finish line!

This picture is quite embarrassing, but I thought I'd post it anyways. I figure it'll get some good laughs. I was excited I finished the race and didn't walk at all!

Let me also tell you...remember the "pose" I posted of Quinton when he finished his 5K (you can refer back to this post)? Well, I did the same post when I crossed the finish line, just for Quinton! My mom didn't know I was doing it so she didn't get a picture.
Dad and April when we were waiting for the awards.

Quinton's pretty silly

We had a great time! I did win a door prize (just a lovely hat and t-shirt). There were a total of 104 runners and I came in 54th. Not too bad for only running 2 weeks before the race!

Family

We hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We spent the weekend with Ryan's family. Friday night we went to the local orthodontists firework show. It's a pretty good show for a little town. He makes his own fireworks and serves everyone ice cream cones. It's a great time. Then Saturday we hung out with family, had a picnic, and celebrated our nephews birthday. We had a great weekend.
Here is Ryan's family.
Back (L-R): Damon, Lori, Jo, Amy, Ryan
Front (L-R): Alissa, Dana, Mya, Grandma Dee, Jaden, Me, Celeste
I love this picture of Ryan's grandma! She is 93ish and still lives at home by herself!
Thanks Mikesells for the fun weekend!
