Week 19 and 20

Week 19 and 20
October 15-27

During week 19, they put up the siding and week 20 they put up the rock.

They ran out of siding, but it should be up soon.

They've been prepping and painting during these last two weeks and are still painting today.

Fixed our missing two pieces of tile.

More pictures of the trim work and paint

They used an oil base paint. It looks very sharp and is supposed to be easy to clean. :)

Put rock up around the fire place. There will still be a mantle that goes on top of the rocks.

My new favorite part of my house....the kitchen! I LOVE IT! So gorgeous.

Appliances aren't installed yet.

They also put in the columns that will define the living room and the family room.

In Honor of Quinton

HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUINTON!

Saturday was my little brother, Quinton's birthday. He is serving a mission in Russia but I decided to make a cake in honor of him. His very favorite kind of cake is the Confetti cake! I had my dad pick up the cake mix and frosting. However, you can't buy his favorite brand at our local grocery store (only Wal-Mart) and Dad doesn't go to Wal-Mart! So he bought another brand that was okay, but not quite as good as the real confetti cake! (I think it's the frosting that makes it oh so yummy!) But sorry, Quinton, it wasn't the real stuff! We'll be sure to have the real kind when you get home!

In this brand, the frosting is just white frosting with confetti sprinkles you put on top. Celeste and Elsie put the sprinkles on.

Celeste, Elsie (giving Quinton a thumbs up), and Kendra posing by the cake

And Caleb wanted his picture taken too!

Then we all had some yummy cake and ice cream in honor of Quinton! Hope you had a great day Q! We love you and are so proud of you!

Week 15

Week 15: Sept. 17-20

This week they finished the sheet rock, mudded, taped, and put texture on the wall. The ceiling and the wall have two different textures. It's hard to see them in the pictures, but I think they turned out great.

This is the living room and family room with me standing by the front door.

Rounded Corners

The family room and living room are one big open room. To define the two separate rooms, they've put in a drop ceiling around the living room. There will also be engineered hardwood floors in the living room and carpet in the family room. The pillars will also be in the corners to help define the room. I wanted a "visiting teaching room" and then more of a play/hang out room. That's why we did the two separate. They are a bit more open than I had originally planned, but I'm happy with the way they've turned out.

This is the front window. I LOVE IT! It's huge.

Other side of the play room...where you walk up the stairs

We are getting closer! This week they are supposed to start laying tile and the hardwood!

Week 14

 Week 14: September 10-15
Lots happened this week! It was awesome! And someone was there working every day this week. Great week! :)
Sept 10-11: They put the roof on.

Sept 10th: Put in the insulation. I didn't get a picture of the walls with just insulation in so here's a picture of a scrap of insulation.

Wed., Sept 12th they measured for the sheet rock and measured for our exterior. We got to pick out our rock and siding.

Thursday, Sept 13th they delivered the sheetrock.

Sept 14-15: Hung sheetrock. They were almost done with it. When I took these pictures, it was still a big mess in the house!
(family room)

(master bedroom)

(upstairs play room)

We also had two sky lights installed this week.

Things are moving right along! I can not wait until it's all completed!
