What a Week

Boy, it's been quite the week! Not only has it been a rough one at work, but Ryan and I have had to fork out a lot of money to dentists, orthodontists, and oral surgeons. It had been over 3 years since Ryan and I had been to a dentist. Ryan had some fillings coming out so he decided to set us up some appointments. (I really don't like the dentist.) This is what came from those dentist appointments of ours:

Tuesday, Ryan got his top set of braces on. He has a bad overbite and was wearing off the backs of his front teeth. It was either braces now or dentures a little while later. We choose to fork out the money and do braces now. That's what the dentist highly recommended. So Ryan will have these lovely braces on for at least two years. He's not so thrilled about the idea!
(Ryan wouldn't let me take a picture of him to post, so this is all you get, sorry!)

Now for me. About 2 years ago my top two wisdom teeth came in. No problems there and they didn't bug me. Now one of my bottom ones started to poke through and it was causing my front teeth to be sore from pushing on them. When I went to the dentist, they did the x-rays and found a cyst growing on one of my bottom wisdom teeth. The dentist highly recommended I get all 4 wisdom teeth taken out. (I knew this was coming and have been dreading it for years. That's one reason I hadn't been to the dentist for so long!) So yesterday, Ryan drove me to Jackson Hole where I went to an oral surgeon to get those big teeth taken out. I choose to be knocked out for the surgery and am so glad I was! I don't remember a thing. I'm a little sore today, but hanging in there.

(Here I am today...looking a bit like a chipmunk!)

Ryan and I can't wait until our teeth start feeling better so we can eat something more than Ramen and Chicken Noodle Soup! However, I think we've both lost 5 lbs!

4 wisdom teeth Yikes!! And I am sure Ryan looks great with his braces. They probably feel weird though. I hope you both get back to eating things you love. And congrats on those 5lbs! hehe

YUCKY! I hate the dentist too! Smart of your to get all 4 of your Wisdom teeth out at the same time. I was knocked out too! My jaw was sore for a few weeks. I lived on Carnation instant breakfast! Give that try! Feel better soon!

I was knocked out for my four wisdom teeth too, I was loopy for a quite awhile. Ryan will get used to the braces in no time, and they are so worth it! But tooth pain is the worse, I had 2 1/2 years of braces and gear, yucky.

That sucks. I"m so sorry. I had a very positive wisdom teeth experience. Kevin's on the other hand wasn't as pleasent. Hang in there.

Wow again! I don't like the dentist, either, especially the bill ;-) Hope you're all feeling 'back to normal' - take care!
